Baker Barn- Sherwood

This barn is located on what was once the Baker Century Farm. The land was sold in 2001 and I have not yet found if it was transferred outside of the family and thus lost its status. No Century Farm sign is displayed on the property.

Elson Baker, who built this barn in 1907, raised hops and ran a local sawmill and gristmill. The barn is unusual because its structural framing is hand-hewn rather than sawn. It may have been built on the framework of an earlier barn.

Today, the barn is mostly hidden behind an orchard of apple trees.
