The Glover Farm is an Oregon Century Farm, in the Glover family since 1852. The Western barn was built in 1907. Homer Glover, owner at the time the barn was built, owned dairy cattle and was known for his innovations. He may have been the first person in the United States to use a “steam donkey,” a type of steam engine mounted on skids, to plow fields. He was the first in his area to use agricultural drain tiles, a horse-drawn manure spreader, or metal cow stanchions.
