The Gribble Barn was a landmark on Highway 170 through Canby. The gambrel barn was built by Albert Daniel Gribble in 1907 and housed their herd of prize-winning Jersey cows.
1n 1986, a “Flying Double A” logo was painted on the barn. Storied vary as to whether it was for a Burger King commercial or an ad for Chevrolet.
The barn was lost after a contentious struggle. A member of the Gribble family, after moving back to Oregon from California, bought the barn itself, but the landowner refused to sell the land on which it sat and wanted the barn destroyed. The Gribble family tried to save the barn, but after the original purchaser died, they gave up the fight. In 2017, the barn was razed.
The wood from the barn was purchased by a company in Redmond Oregon and has been used to build new homes.
