I will be frank- the Lins farm barn breaks my heart. Trapped behind barbed wire and “No Tresspassing” signs, surrounded by trash and junk, covered with blackberry vines and topped with what appears to be a security camera, this once-beautiful barn has been left to deteriorate. There are still some visible signs of what a gorgeous barn it once was.
Hermann and Catharine Lins, the original owners, purchased the farm from the Oregon and California Railroad Company in 1881.
The barn was built in 1910, and is one of few in the area to use hand-hewn framing members. It originally had a large amount of decorative details, including a pointed cupola, zigzag details on the exterior walls, and diamond patterns on the door.
The Lins family owned the farm from 1881 into the 1960s.
